The Science and Technology Branch (STB) is a service within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The STB is responsible for providing forensic science, applied technology, identification, information sharing, and automated analysis support capabilities to the FBI and the larger law enforcement community. ==Leadership== Headed by an FBI Executive Assistant Director, the STB is responsible to the FBI Director through the Deputy Director. As a unit of the FBI (which is a division of the United States Department of Justice), the STB is ultimately responsible to the Attorney General of the United States.
